1. Where do you find inspiration and what motivates you to keep going?
There is nothing conceptual about my painting; I don't set out to get an idea across. I see something in the world around me which looks, at that moment, very beautiful and important and I want to paint it.
2. What is one thing you want people to know about you?
I prefer my audience, or a juror, to have no preconceived ideas or perceptions about me.
3. What role does the artist have in society?
Some art, sometimes, will impact some people, in a profound way - usually it is a curiosity, a pleasure, a social outing. At another level, it awakens something unconscious: a work can have countless different meanings to be seen and felt and taken away.
