Nested Realms is a psychological journey consisting of three sets of images: tonal drawings, linear drawings, and paintings in digital media.

The drawings alternate between two contrastive styles and perspectives, the suggestive Eastern linear drawings of multi-focal-point landscape, and the descriptive Western tonal drawings of fixed focal-point landscape. This motif is designed to give the viewers a sense of dialogue between oscillating viewpoints. In extension, the digital paintings are not only a reinforcement of the linear drawings, but also serve as a bridge between the dualistic perspectives and approaches.

In these pieces, the mountainous formations are inaccessible and otherworldly, peppered with ancient ruins, forests of varying climates, and fossilized cars and ships. These images serve to stir the viewers’ emotional curiosity and fuel their visual imagination, connecting the past and future with a sense of light humor.
