CALL TO ARTISTS: Only TAC members with active accounts may submit up to 3 artworks open to all disciplines with no theme. All mediums accepted including oils, acrylics, pastels, watercolors, prints, drawings, mixed media, sculpture, video, installation, photography, and digital art with no size restrictions. The show will occur in Fort Worth Community Arts Center’s premier, 3000 square foot, Front Gallery. All artwork must be original and must not infringe upon any copyright or the rights of any person.   • A Solo Exhibition in one of our 700 sq ft galleries during Spring Gallery Night 2020. Fall Gallery Night is an event that occurs once a year during March. It is arguably our most popular opening of year were we anticipate more than 3000 visitors in a single night. The winner will be announced at the end of the show.

ABOUT THE JUROR: Margery Gossett received her Bachelors of Fine Arts from Southern Methodist University, focusing on painting and printmaking and minoring in Art History, in 2005. During her time at SMU, she studied art at the Slade School in London. She received her post bachelorette certificate from The Museum School, Tufts Art School, in Boston in 2006. During her time in Boston, she worked for Newbury Fine Arts Gallery. In 2007 she moved to Fort Worth, Texas and became the director at Artspace111. Artspace111 hosts over six exhibitions yearly, each curated by Margery and her team. Artspace111 has also participated in the Dallas Art Fair and the Texas Contemporary Art Fair. Margery has severed on the Executive Advisory Panel at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center during which she curated a number of exhibitions in the Focus Galleries. She sat as the secretary on the Fort Worth Art Dealers Association, which she has also been a member of since 2009. She has juried numerous exhibition around DFW, including Tarrant County College, Area Watercolor Associations, and local private schools. Under Margery's guidance Artspace111 has also built a successful branch of consulting for public and private collections giving her a chance to work towards her goal to make fine artwork accessible to all individuals.

ABOUT FWCAC: Located at 1300 Gendy Street, the FWCAC is part of the most architecturally significant museum districts in the United States. The striking modern Herbert Bayer building (with a later O’Neil Ford addition) opened to the public in 1954 as home to one of the most prestigious and oldest collecting organizations in the state of Texas, the Modern Museum of Fort Worth. When, in 2002, the Modern moved down the street, the Fort Worth Community Arts Center opened. The building has exhibited world class art and supported the performing arts for more than half a century. The Arts Council manages the FWCAC, provides leadership and funding to local arts organizations through our competitive Grants Program and administers the Fort Worth Public Art program.

SUBMISSION: Work will be juried from images submitted only through the gallery’s online submission. $25 submission fee for up to three pieces. Each additional submission will be $5 each. Images must be JPEGs with minimum width/height of 800 pixels, maximum size as 3MB. Make sure the file name corresponds with the title of the work and do not use spaces or special characters (!@$, etc) in the image file names. Video and audio files can be submitted through links. FWCAC reserves the right to reject inaccurately represented work, or incomplete submission.

PRESENTATION: Work must be suitably framed (or sides cleanly finished or painted) and ready for hanging. D-rings should be used for heavy works, wires for works under 5lbs. Drawings, prints, watercolors and pastels on paper must be under Plexiglass.

SALES: All work will be for sale unless the artist informs the gallery to the contrary. 25% of proceeds from sales will go to FWCAC and the remainder to the artists.

RECEIVING: Hand-delivered work must arrive July 26, 2019. Substitutions and late arriving work will not be exhibited. Work must remain for the duration of exhibition.

DEADLINE: All applications must be submitted before midnight (CMT) on June 1, 2019. FWCAC will notify accepted applicants only by July 1, 2019.

REMOVAL: All hand delivered work must be picked up from gallery on August 22, 2019 between 9:00am – 5:00pm. Works not removed on these days will be placed in storage and released at gallery’s convenience.

Acceptance of this contract is a specific acceptance of the terms listed. Objects exhibited in the FWCAC will be given great care. Unless the artist wishes to provide his/her own insurance coverage, the FWCAC will insure all exhibitions under its existing insurance policy, which covers up to $500,000, against all risks of physical loss or damage while on the premises during the period of the exhibition. If the exhibitor(s) wish to provide his/her own insurance, such actions constitute the release of the FWCAC from any liability in connection with the exhibition. Coverage is not authorized past the exhibition and artwork may not be stored at the FWCAC unless prior arrangements have been made. The FWCAC allows visitors to photograph works of art. Artists are required to contribute 25% from work sold in the exhibition. By submitting your artwork, you are agreeing to the terms above.
