Painting the River: A Trinity Trails Mural Gallery

The Tarrant Regional Water District is commissioning art on eight large-scale utilitarian structures along the Trinity Trails in Fort Worth, Texas. The goal of the project is to create destinations and chance encounters for trail users with art that reflects the beauty of nature, rivers, and water.
Four OAC facilities, the Latino Cultural Center, the Moody Performance Hall, the Oak Cliff Cultural Center and the South Dallas Cultural Center, are collaborating and organizing a multi-venue juried exhibition that will showcase the works of artists who live in Dallas and the Greater North Texas region.

GAR is a fully funded residency. Artists in residence will receive a studio, an apartment, a monthly stipend of $1,000 per month, and a $500 travel stipend to be granted upon arrival.
The residency is intended as a gift of time for the development of your practice. We are looking for visual artists that are at a point in their life where they need to focus on their work and will benefit from a period of intense studio time.
Austin Central Library invites artists, collectives, curators and beyond to submit proposals for consideration to exhibit at the 2700 sq ft. gallery in 2021. Selections will be made by impartial juries comprised of local artists, curators, educators and community leaders through a jury-scoring process. Candidates will be announced in early March 2020. It is free to apply and the call is open to applicants residing in Texas.
